Local Philadelphia affiliate NBC-10 News was on hand at the March 14 opening reception to talk to the students about the disaster: Originally intended to explore language, identity and cultural hybridity, “Mapping Experience” turned into a vital source of support for the student artists and three faculty members, who are all from an area of Japan not directly affected by the catastrophe. Local NPR affiliate WHYY also featured the visiting Japanese students during its morning news program and on its NewsWorks portal: “In Time of Trouble, Japanese Students Create Art, Forge Bonds” » “Mapping Experience: A Japan and UArts Exchange” will be on display through March 27 in Gallery One and the Sculpture Gallery in Hamilton Hall and in Gallery 817 in Anderson Hall.

While 15 visiting undergraduate students from Kinki University in Osaka, Japan, were busy creating collaborative art installations with University of the Arts students for the ”Mapping Experience: A Japan and UArts Exchange” exhibit, a massive earthquake and devastating tsunami struck their home country.

Went swimming with Miss Christina Owens today and had a REALLY good time! So We’re going again tomorrow! I’ve also gotten lots done today including some work for some pre-paid stuff! I also just thought I would make a list of the top 10 things I want to do this summer!

1) go camping

2) spend the day at the beach

3) Bike to sandringham

4) have a BBQ

5) go shopping

6) go somewhere outside of Kings Lynn and have a day out.. without shopping!

7) grow out my layers!

8) get a manicure

9) earn lots of money aside from work and pocket money. min. £50.

10) Make my Autumn collection for Etsy over the 6 weeks and find some vintage pieces to sell too!

I love her shoes! I’ve really struggled this year to find some really cute nice summer shoes, but I’ve stopped looking now. I think I’ll just save up for Autumn!

I hate Art Dissertations… just to let everyone know.. mine’s going badly -.-
